Our winter warmer menu is a hit
We’ve recently launched our new Autumn – Winter menu and the compliments are pouring in. With dishes like chicken cordon bleu, lamb shanks, seafood baskets and creamy fish pie with a potato crust, it’s not surprising!
“The coconut and pumpkin soup is delicious,” said one resident. “The honey soy chicken drumsticks were very tasty,” said another, while a third could not fault the delicious, gooey ginger pudding.
At the heart of our meal service is a dedicated team whose mission goes well beyond simply preparing and serving food. Their focus is on creating meals that are fresh, nutritious and full of flavour, while considering the diverse needs, tastes and preferences of every resident.
A key ingredient is collaboration. Sharlene, Support Services Manager, says the menus are not created in isolation, they’re shaped by the residents. “Our Focus on Food meetings are well attended by residents who provide important input and select a variety of meals they’d like to see offered,” she says.
Mealtimes are so much more than the dishes served, too. There’s something inviting about a cosy dining room, a comforting bowl of soup or a slow cooked lamb stew. And enjoying a meal with friends makes it even more special. Sharlene says the feedback received reflects this. “We hear great comments about how lovely it is to catch up with friends at mealtimes, and how happy it makes them to chat with the team members as they serve them,” she adds.
Our dining room is now open from 7.00 am for those residents who’d like to enjoy an earlier coffee or breakfast, and we also offer a 24-hour snack station for those craving something in between meals or simply wanting a light bite.
