Friendships flourishing around the dining table
At PresCare Maryborough’s two communities, mealtimes are about much more than being served food. The communal dining rooms have become hubs where residents gather, not only to enjoy a delicious morning tea, lunch or dinner, but to join in conversations and share stories and laughter together.
New Yaralla Place Resident, Annette, has found a lovely group of ladies to enjoy mealtimes with. “I’m loving the social aspect and am making new friendships! There is lots of lively chatter to enjoy,” she says.
At Groundwater Lodge, Patricia and Daphne have developed a special ritual. The two share morning tea together every day and in doing so, have forged a beautiful bond. “If I’d known what special friendships and connections I’d make here, I would have come sooner,” Patricia smiles.
Groundwater Lodge Manager, Celin, says finding somewhere that feels like home can make all the difference. “At PresCare, we focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere where residents are supported to feel at home and have a sense of belonging.”
Some residents also take pride in making the dining rooms feel welcoming and homely. In both communities they can be seen folding napkins together, helping set the tables and even picking flowers from the garden to brighten the room.
